10 dead, 8 hurt after truck falls off road in Zamboanga del Norte

At least 10 people were killed after a truck overturned in Sitio Quary, Barangay Mamawan Baliguian in Zamboanga del Norte, police said Thursday.

Based on initial investigation, the vehicle was heading towards the municipality of Labason on Thursday morning but upon reaching the descending road of Sitio Quary, the driver lost control of the steering wheel due to brake malfunction.

Police said the vehicle, which was overloaded with passengers, fell down approximately 20 meters depth from the shoulder of the road.

Eight passengers were immediately brought to the Labason District Hospital.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
