Neighbor stabs woman eight times in rob try at Bulacan home

A bettor of online cockfighting or “e-sabong” is now facing multiple charges after stabbing his neighbor in a robbery attempt at her house in Hagonoy, Bulacan.

According to Cedric Castillo’s report over 24 Oras, victim Aileen Fernando sustained physical injuries after being stabbed eight times in various parts of her body when she caught the suspect trying to break inside her house on Sunday evening.

“Pag derecho ko ng CR, bumukas yung pinto… Pag ganoon ko may lalaki na sa harap ko. Edi syempre, nagulat ako. Bigla akong nilapitan. Ginanoon nya ko sa leeg. Pinagsusuntok nya ko madami sa mukha. Kaya yung mukha ko namaga, nagdugo bunganga ko,” Fernando said.

(When I went to the CR, the door suddenly opened… When I looked, I was shocked because there was a man in front of me. He approached me and then choked me. He punched my face that’s why it is swollen. My mouth bled.)

“Hinahawi ko yung kutsilyo baka matamaan ako dito sa leeg. Kaya dito nya ko natamaan sa tenga. Sa pisngi, may hiwa ako dito sa pisngi,” he said.

(I fended off his knife because I was afraid it would go straight on my neck. It hit me on the ears and cheeks.)

Fernando said she recognized the suspect’s face because it is her neighbor.

“Ang sabi ko lang sa kanya bakit? Dahil sasaksakin niya ako eh.. bakit? Pagbayaran niya yun kasi di niya inisip mga anak ko. Tsaka babae ako eh. Dapat di nya ko sinaktan,” she said.

(I asked him why? He was going to stab me…why? He should pay for it because he did not think about my children. And I am a woman, he shouldn’t have hurt me.)

“Kung magnanakaw man siya. Kinausap na lang ako, na pinasukan niya bahay ko. Mapapatawad ko pa siya. Pero yung ganoon na kulang na lang mamatay ako.. eh kung hindi ako nanlaban? Wala na ako,” she said.

(If he admitted robbing our house, that I can forgive. But this? I nearly died. If I didn’t fight, I could have been killed.)

The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to the initial investigation of Hagonoy police, the suspect admitted he attempted to break into Fernando’s house because of his addiction to e-sabong.

He is now under police custody and has been charged with attempted robbery and frustrated homicide.

“Napasubo sya di umano sa kanyang bisyo. Kailangan niya ng pera para matustusan ang kaniyang bisyo,” Police Major Neil Cruzado,  officer in charge of Hagonoy police, said.
