MILF, MNLF ex-fighters to take exam for PNP appointment on May 29 —BARMM exec

The Bangsamoro government on Friday said decommissioned combatants of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) are expected to take exams to be part of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Interior Minister and spokesperson Naguib Sinarimbo confirmed to GMA News Online that the special qualifying examinations will be held on May 29.

In December 2021, the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process said 5,250 of the 14,000 MILF combatants who are scheduled to be decommissioned under the third phase, were decommissioned this year.

Remaining combatants will undergo the process this 2022, it added.

The decommissioning is part of the normalization track process under the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro to help former combatants transform into peaceful and productive citizens.—AOL, GMA News
