2 children missing in Negros floods
CADIZ CITY, Philippines - Two children were reported missing after being swept away by floods that hit this city in Negros Occidental province late Tuesday. Visayas-based Bombo Radyo reported Wednesday that the two were part of a group of children trying to cross an overflowing river when the bamboo bridge broke. Jonna Demotica, 12, and her sister Jessa Joy 7, students of Kaduhaan Elementary School in Hacienda Asuncion in Kaduhaan village in Cadiz City, have since been missing after the incident. According to the report, at least seven other classmates were with the two when they tried to cross the river using the bamboo bridge. Heavy rains that pounded the province in the past days caused the river to overflow, initial investigation said. - GMANews.TV
