Remaining missing person in Bohol fastcraft fire found — PCG
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Monday said the remaining missing person in the recent fastcraft vessel fire in Bohol has been found.
“Nahanap na po ang one missing passenger ng MBCA Mama Mary Chloe (The one missing passenger of MBCA Mama Mary Chloe has been found),” Coast Guard spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo told reporters in a message.
The passenger identified as Andy Toniacao was part of the survivors earlier rescued and brought to the Port of Hilongos but he immediately left.
“Kasama siya sa na-rescue at inihatid sa Port of Hilongos, pero umalis siya agad sa area dahil sa trauma, kaya na-note siya as missing,” Balilo added.
(He was included in the passengers rescued and transported to Port of Hilongos, but he immediately left the area because of trauma, that is why he was listed as missing.)
On Sunday afternoon, the fastcraft MBCA Mama Mary Chloe carrying 157 passengers and eight crew caught fire in the waters between Tugas and Tilmobo Islands in Bohol.
One died, while a total of 164 people, including Toniacao, survived in the incident.
According to the PCG, 135 of the survivors were already home while 29 others are still under the custody of the local government of President Carlos P. Garcia Bohol, Bohol.
The 29 survivors will be transported by MV Our Lady of Smile from Ubay, Bohol to Bato, Leyte at 3 p.m. this Monday. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
