Coast Guard working dog uncovers P210K worth of illegal drugs in Zamboanga

A Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) working dog detected P210,000 worth of illegal drugs at Zamboanga International Airport on Tuesday.

The PCG said working dog “Bunny” detected a positive indication of drugs on a certain package while inspecting the outbound packages in the airport at 12:50 p.m.

Airport authorities and PCG K9 Team Zamboanga found inside the package at least 14 sachets or five grams each containing white crystalline substances suspected as methamphetamine or “shabu.”

According to the Coast Guard, personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) took over the incident for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the PCG assured the public of "maintaining peace, security, and orderliness" in various airports across the country.—Richa Noriega/LDF, GMA News
