Murder suspects surrender in Lanao del Sur

Two murder suspects surrendered to authorities in Wao, Lanao del Sur earlier this week, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Wednesday.

In a statement, the PNP identified the suspects as 29-year-old Rechie Autida Balicao and 48-year-old Rogelio Orenio Beldad.

The suspects were subjects of a warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Wilfredo Gutang Bibera Jr.

The arrested suspects will be presented to the court for the issuance of commitment orders.

Meanwhile, policemen have arrested a drug suspect in a checkpoint operation in Barangay Sarmiento, Parang, Maguindanao.

He was identified as a certain Jerry Angas, 32.

Angas was flagged down by the police while onboard his motorcycle.

Based on a police report, law enforcers asked the suspect to present documents, including his driver’s license.

Upon opening the compartment of his motorcycle, cops saw seven sachets of shabu with an estimated value of P6,000. —VBL, GMA News
