'Missing' minors in Bulacan left home due to family problems, depression —police

Police in Bulacan on Thursday allayed fears regarding the supposed missing minors in the province, saying they have already been accounted for.

Interviewed on GMA News’ Unang Balita, Bulacan Police chief Police Colonel Charlie Cabradilla said those reported missing were found out to have just left their homes due to family problems while one was experiencing depression.

He also said these cases are not connected with each other and to the case of the 24-year-old woman who was found dead earlier this week, days after she was reported missing.

“Yun pong mga reported na sinasabing missing ay hindi po siya konektado dito sa isang insidente na ito. This is an isolated incident of robbery and homicide,” he said, referring to the case of Princess Diane Dayor.

“Yung iba naman na reported na kinokonekta dito ay they are just a result of family problem. Yung iba naman ay may condition. Yung isa doon ay may condition nagkaroon ng mental depression kaya lumayo muna sa tahanan pero nakita later,” he added.

(The other missing person cases that are being linked to this incident are just due to family problems. One left home because of depression but that person is already accounted for.)

According to Cabradilla, all of the three missing minors in Bulacan have already been found and returned to their homes.

Cabradilla made the clarification amid reports that Bulacan residents are apprehensive over their safety after posters of the missing minors became viral on social media.

The fear was exacerbated after Dayor was found dead in a grassy area near the Guiguinto-Malolos border on Tuesday. She was last seen alive Saturday. Police said a suspect has already been identified. —KBK, GMA News
