SUV narrowly escapes being crushed by large rock during Abra quake
The occupants of an SUV traveling down the road in Abra narrowly escaped injury or even death when a large boulder fell onto the road in front of them during last week's earthquake.
According to a report on "24 Oras Weekend," Loreto Cabarubias said that he and his family were on their way home when the earthquake hit. Video from the car's dashcam shows a huge chunk of rock that seems to heave sheared off a cliff face crashing down just a few feet in front of the car, which was in motion.
Their car did not escape damage, however, as a rock also hit its rear. But the family considers it a miracle they were spared.
The magnitude 7.0 quake occurred at 8:43 a.m. on Wednesday—as can be seen on the video footage. The death toll has risen to 10, as of July 29. — BM, GMA News
