P3.4 million worth of illegal drugs seized in Legazpi City

Authorities on Thursday seized P3.4 million worth of shabu and arrested two suspects in a buy-bust operation in Legazpi City, Albay.

According to Police Regional Office 5, the suspects were nabbed at around 10:30 a.m. in Barangay 37-Bitano during a joint operation conducted by the Legazpi City Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Albay.

Confiscated from them were about 550 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P3.4 million.

The suspects are now in the custody of PDEA-RO5 and will be charged for violations of Section 5 in relation to Sections 26 and 11 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
