DPWH: 5 major roads still closed due to Florita
Five major roads in Luzon remain closed to traffic due to the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Florita, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Thursday.
The DPWH Bureau of Maintenance reported that as of 6 a.m. on August 25, three roads in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), one road in Cagayan Valley, and one road in CALABARZON were still impassable.
Affected sections in the CAR include the Kennon Road due to safety reasons; Claveria-Calanasan-Kabugao Road in Namaltugan, Calanasan, Apayao due to road cut and soil collapse; and the Mt. Province–Ilocos Sur via Tue, in Tadian, Mt. Province due to rock collapse.
Other affected roads still closed are the Cabagan-Sta. Maria Road, Cabagan Overflow Bridge in Isabela due to high water elevation; and the Sagbat Pililla Diversion Road in Baras, Rizal due to landslide.
Meanwhile, the DPWH said six road sections in North Luzon had been cleared and reopened. Of the figures, four are in CAR while one each is in Ilocos Region and Cagayan Valley. —NB, GMA News
