Motorcycle rider hit, dragged by truck in Urdaneta City

A motorcycle rider died after being hit and dragged by a truck in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

According to Claire Lacanilao’s report on GMA Regional TV “Balitang Amianan,” the CCTV caught a motorcycle crash after overtaking a tricycle along Brgy. Nancayasan. The victim was then dragged about 20 meters away after getting hit by a truck.

The rider, John Torres, 37, of Barangay Pinmaludpod, died due to the incident.

"Nag-overtake siya, in-overtake-an niya 'yung tricycle, tamang-tama naman noong nag-overtake siya, paparating 'yung dalawang truck, pagkalipas ng segundo, 'yun may paparating na napakabilis na truck, nasagi ng truck," police investigator Rodolfo Sumio said.

Torres' family is appealing for help.

The police are still searching for the truck driver as they are also collecting other CCTV footage to identify him.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA News
