Family converts tricycle into home on wheels
A family in Camarines Norte made its dream of living a life always on the go come true by converting a tricycle previously used as rolling store into a camper house.
According to a "24 Oras" report by Oscar Oida, Benjo and Rox Dimaandal, together with their two kids, have left their residence to settle into their new home on wheels since February.
Their tricycle camper has a bed, table, sink and a small kitchen. It also has a portable toilet with flush.
As the tricycle camper has no shower, the family takes a bath in camp sites near rivers or seas.
“By the way homeschooled po yung kids namin. Bale yung ilog at dagat are their playground and classroom,” Benjo said.
During calamities, the couple leaves their children to the care of their grandparents.
Benjo said they had spent around P30,000 to come up with the camper house.
“Converting it from a store into a camper house siguro mga P30,000 lang yung dinagdag namin, sabi ko bakit hindi kaya yung Plan A yung gawin ko, which was yung dream namin of a road life. Yung mental health that is a benefit talaga pag nagta-travel ka,” Benjo said.
The couple earns from their buy and sell ventures online.
“Lahat kasi ng struggle na pinagdaanan ko, I believe it was preparing me for this life and dream. Hindi siya sa amin binigay noong time na medyo well-off kami so there is a time for everything,” Benjo said.—Richa Noriega/LDF, GMA News
