PCG rescues 14 fishermen off Camarines Sur

Fourteen fishermen were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in the vicinity waters off Siruma town, Camarines Sur earlier this week.

In a statement Wednesday, the PCG said they launched a search and rescue operation on Monday after the boat owner reported that they encountered engine trouble and the motorbanca was dead in the water.

There were initially 16 passengers in the boat but the owner said two fishermen were already rescued by a transiting motorbanca.

After confirming the fishermen were in good physical condition, the PCG team towed the motorbanca towards the shoreline of Pandawan Fish Port, Barangay 7, Mercedes, Camarines Norte. — Sundy Locus/BM, GMA News
