Mom nabbed for allegedly trying to sell own baby in Iloilo
A mother and alleged accomplice were arrested after allegedly trying to sell her baby in Iloilo City.
According to a report on “24 Oras”, authorities found messages on the accomplice's phone that contained details of her supposed transactions with several customers as well as her exchanges with a hospital and a lying-in clinic.
She defended herself, saying the mother had previously talked with another person to sell her baby—an allegation the latter denied.
The mother said she was trying to get her child adopted and was unaware that her baby was being sold.
Both suspects are now under the custody of the police and are facing charges of violating the Anti-Trafficking and Anti-Child Abuse Law.
