Provinces affected by Super Typhoon Karding received immediate help from GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to a "24 Oras" report, Monday, among the beneficiaries was Ludema de Loreto from General Nakar in Quezon. Her home, which was made of pieces of galvanized sheets, tarpaulin, and plastic, was ruined.
Even the papaya tree she earns her some income was put down, so she now only depends on aid to survive.
"Ako'y nanghihina na ang loob at nerbyos," she said. "Ako'y natatakot na. Ang mga bubong ko, naalis kaya nagtutuluan ang loob ng bahay."
("I was losing hope and feeling nervous. I was afraid. My roof got blown off so the house got drenched.")
De Loreto and other residents in coastal barangays of General Nakar were given food packs and some vitamins.
The GMA Kapuso Foundation team is heading to Infanta Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 600 individuals in evacuation centers in Obando, Bulacan and 400 residents from Quezon City participated in feeding programs and received relief goods.
Other members of the foundation are also in Aurora Province. They are set to go to Polillo Island.
The GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
