Tricycle driver dies after falling into creek in Pangasinan
A tricycle driver died when he and his vehicle fell into a creek in Barangay San Miguel in Natividad, Pangasinan.
According to Joan Punsoy’s report in GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon, the victim was identified as Francis Sagon, a resident of Barangay Rizal of the same town.
A resident who was on his way to the farm saw the tricycle in the creek, the report added.
Police investigation revealed that Sagon suffered a wound on the forehead and drowned in the creek that is about four meters deep from the road.
“More or less [nasa] hip level [ang tubig sa sapa] pero siyempre siguro nabagok ‘yung [ulo niya] kasi mayroon siyang tama sa forehead niya based on the post-mortem examination,” said Natividad Police Station chief Police Lieutenant Erwin Lopez.
“There is no sign of foul play and the victim died due to asphyxia due to drowning,” he added.
Lopez also said that Sagon had a drinking spree before the incident.
“Gabi na ‘yun nakipag-inuman pa siya sa part ng Barangay San Miguel,” the police official added.
