Flood-stricken residents in Maguindanao receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Residents of Maguindanao who are still suffering from the floods caused by tropical storm Paeng received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Friday, some areas in Maguindanao look as if they are lakes when Paeng brought heavy rains and winds.

Until now, many families still need to wade through the water or use a boat to go out of their homes.

"Kahit walang bagyo if ever na mag-ulan sa karatig munisipyo namin, ay magkakaroon kami ng baha dito dahil sa kami 'yung sumasalo ng mga baha sa iba't ibang munisipyo," said Adtong Dabpil, barangay kagawad in Lower Tabiran, Northern Kabuntalan.

("Even if there's no typhoon, when it rains in our neighboring municipalities, we will also have floods because we are at the catch basin of the floods.")

In Datu Odin Sinsuat, residents help each other clear out the water lily washed over by the floods so their fishing boats can pass through.

To help the residents survive in the aftermath of Paeng, the GMA Kapuso Foundation sent aid to the affected areas in Maguindanao.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
