Help pours in for dog in Cebu City with knife stuck on his head
Father and son, Jerson and Jezrell, found a dog roaming the streets of Barangay Bonbon in Cebu City with a knife stuck on his head, according to the report of Alan Domingo for GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak on "State of the Nation."
Jezrell said he tried to approach the dog but it would always move away from them.
So he decided to take photos and post these on social media. The photos went viral and these were seen my animal rights advocate, Theresa Marie Vidal.
Vidal searched for the dog and named him "Bonbon," after the barangay where it was discovered.
Netizens took pity on the plight of the dog and donations poured in.
The dog was immediately brought to a veterinary clinic to undergo surgery. Bonbon is now recuperating after the delicate operation.
Veterinarian, Dr. Ryan Yandung, said Bonbon is lucky because the knife did not hit his brain.
He added that the dog is stable and that he did not see any complications arising from the procedure.
The Cebu City Council took note of Bonbon's situation and sought the assistance of the police to identify the suspect who stabbed the dog.
