5, including minor, killed in shooting, hacking attack in Lantapan, Bukidnon

Five persons, including a minor, were killed over the weekend after six suspects attacked them in Barangay Songco in Lantapan, Bukidnon.

Investigation showed that Rocky Cruz, 33; Rachel Cruz, 19; Winlove Sinto y Talino, 30; and Saliyawan Pina, 11, succumbed to gunshot wounds.

Another fatality, Daniel Lugnasan y Ondinay, 54, died of a hacking wound on his face.

Police Staff Sergeant Jeroen Pulido said Pina was brought to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.

One of the victims Mael Lugnasan was injured with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

All six suspects are still at large, Pulido said.

Police investigators are looking at a land dispute as a motive for the attack. —NB, GMA Integrated News
