Clark passengers were also affected by airport technical issues
Similar to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), several passengers at the Clark International Airport (CRK) expressed disappointment over the cancellation of their flights due to the technical issues that hit the air navigation traffic system of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.
The technical issues had resulted to the shutdown of the Philippine airspace on New Year’s Day. Airport operations have since returned to normal and recovery flights are being arranged by airline companies.
In Jasmin Gabriel-Galban’s report on “24 Oras”, passenger Reyna Revilla and her family aired their frustration after being forced to wait at the airport for hours before they were informed that their flight was canceled.
“Naghintay kami ng flight namin ng 6 p.m. pero walang eroplano.. Sabi naman 9 p.m. daw. Naghintay pa rin kami kaya nakapag check in kami alas-onse na kagabi,” said Revilla.

Meanwhile, student Michole Figueroa said her wait was bearable as the airline company provided her with free food and accommodation.
“‘Yung airlines they gave us hotel to stay and food and today they sent us to shuttle. Okay lang it’s bearable naman,” she added.

The airport management said their system has resumed and fewer passengers were monitored at the Clark International Airport. -- Sundy Locus/BAP, GMA Integrated News
