Some houses damaged by 'tornado' in Iloilo City

Some residents of Iloilo City were hurt after their homes were hit by what they called a tornado.

According to John Sala’s GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas report which aired on “24 Oras”, one of the victims had a tree fall on her house.

Her 9-year-old grandchild was brought to the hospital after being trapped .

“Bago noon gising na ako kasi umuulan. Parang nakatulog ulit ako tapos narinig ko na lang ang tunog ng mga yero,” Vilma said.

“Ang puno pala nandoon na sa amin. Natabunan si Toto. Matagal pa bago siya nakuha. Salamat at nakaligtas siya,” she added.

Based on the data of the city social welfare and development office, around 35 houses were destroyed in Barangay Sto. Domingo and Sta. Cruz in Arevalo, Iloilo City.
