Bride hops on motorcycle after bridal car gets stuck in Sinulog traffic
Amid heavy traffic due to the Sinulog Festival, a bride in Cebu City hopped on a motorcycle to be in church on time and say “I do”.
According to a report of Balitang Bisdak’s Fe Marie Dumaboc on “24 Oras”, Jessica Marie Lumbay-Bunado's photo trended online after she rode a motorcycle while in her wedding dress.
Jessica said she was on her way to the San Pedro Calungsod Church in South Road Properties when her bridal car got caught in traffic, prompting her to make the move.
“Very unusual, pero exciting at the same time,” Jessica said.
She said her wedding coordinator, Carlo Abaquita, initially came up with the idea after he anticipated the possible gridlock in the city due to the festival.
“Sinabihan ko siya noon pa kahit meron pang bridal car, dapat meron din tayong back-up na motor in case. Pagdating sa entrance ng bridge, doon ang traffic,” Abaquita said in Cebuano.
(I told her to have a backup motorcycle just in case. When we arrived at the bridge, we were stuck in traffic.)
The bride arrived on time to walk down the aisle and meet her groom waiting at the altar. She said they were preparing for their wedding after it was previously postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The long wait is over. Iyon ang surprise maganda ang wedding. We never expected na mag-trending,” Jessica said.
