2 of 3 suspects in Batangas barangay chairman's killing arrested —Azurin


Two of the three suspects in the killing of a barangay chairman in Batangas have been arrested on Saturday, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said Monday.

In a press briefing, Azurin identified the arrested suspects as Lito Bautista and Rene Boy Carbajosa.

“On March 4, 2023, two of the suspects, Lito Bautista, government employee (ambulance driver)...and Rene Boy Carbajosa who was on board and seated at the front passenger side of the said getaway vehicle used were arrested,” Azurin said.

He added that the vehicle used in the attack was recovered from Carbajosa.

The police are still looking for the gunman identified as Allan Edroso, who allegedly shot the victim Vivencio Palo in Lipa City on February 26.

Batangas Police Provincial Office conducted operations to identify the occupants of the blue sedan.

Lipa City Police Station found a witness, Limuel Matias, who narrated how the murder was planned which led to the arrest of the suspects. —KG, GMA Integrated News
