Truck spills ketchup on Baguio road after ramming electric pole

BAGUIO CITY – Bokawkan Road was "bloodied" Wednesday afternoon when a ten-wheeler truck loaded with ketchup rammed an electric pole and a pine tree before falling on its side at the embankment beside the Seventh Day Adventist Church. As a result, the road was littered with tomato ketchup as the truck was supposed to deliver a popular brand at nearby Ayson Marketing. The front of the Fuzo truck was almost flattened, injuring driver Eddie Alcomendez. His truck helper identified as Michael Poliwas was seriously injured and under observation at the Baguio General Hospital. Alcomendez said in the police report that the truck lost its brakes while going down Bokawkan, now known as Buhagan Road. He said that he tried to swerve on the road on an empty lot but this caused him to ram the truck and litter the road with ketchup. The pole and the pine also fell down. Not only was the road "bloodied" but the mishap caused power blackout in surrounding areas including parts of La Trinidad. Power was fully restored only at 6:30 pm. - GMANews.TV
