Some fishponds drying up in Sto. Niño, South Cotabato due to heat

The hot temperature this dry season has affected some fishponds in Sto. Niño, South Cotabato, drying them up.

The residents have resorted to transferring the fishes to containers, hoping they will still grow, according to a report on Unang Balita on Monday.

The water pressure is not that strong in the area, affecting rice fields as well.

PAGASA announced on March 21 that the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan season has ended and the warm and dry season has started.

In a statement, the state weather bureau said that the warm and dry season is expected to last until May. —KG, GMA Integrated News
