Dentist has eyes pierced, hit on the head in clinic attack
Two men who posed as delivery riders attacked a dentist in Cebu City, hitting him on the head before piercing both his eyes.
According to the report on "24 Oras" by Alan Domingo of GMA Regional TV "Balitang Bisdak," the victim was identified as Dr. Charles Sia.
He was hit on the head and had his eyes poked by the suspects.
Initial investigation showed that the suspects posed delivery riders and entered the dental clinic on Wednesday afternoon.
The suspects handcuffed the dentist, his secretary and two patients.
They adverted to a grudge and attacked the victim.
Police Capt. Mark Don Alfred Leanza said the victim didn't see what was used to pierce his eyes as he had already been hit on the head.
The dentist is now recovering in the hospital but is said to be at risk of going blind.
‘“Sinabi ng doktor is functioning naman siya, but, we do not know yet kung ang level ng functionability ng mata is 100%,” said Leanza.
The investigation and the pursuit of the suspects are still ongoing.
Personal grudge could be the motive behind the attack, according to the police.—Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA Integrated News
