Two accused in Salilig hazing case nabbed in Cavite
Two accused in the killing of an Adamson University student have been arrested on Thursday night at their residences in Cavite.
According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, the CIDG Laguna Field Unit arrested one of the accused, a 20-year-old, in Barangay Alapan II in Imus.
The other, a 21-year-oldwas arrested in Barangay Amaya 6 in Tanza.
Both have been accused of violating the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018 in connection with the death of Adamson University student Matthew Salilig.
They've been tagged as among CALABARZON's most wanted persons.
They are wanted for violation of Republic Act 8049, as amended by Republic Act 11503 (Anti-Hazing Act of 2018).
A warrant for their arrest was issued by Judge Armin Noel B. Villamonte of the Binan City Regional Trial Court.
Salilig went missing before his body was found burned in a shallow grave in Imus.
Already a member of the Tau Gamma Phi, Salilig had gone through the welcoming rites of the fraternity's Adamson chapter in Biñan. —Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA Integrated News
