3-year-old burn victim in Cotabato dies; parents seek financial help

A three-year-old, who accidentally fell into a pile of burning coal, has died in Cotabato, according to a report on "Saksi."

The child fell into burning coal last July 11 and was hospitalized for treatment of third degree burns.

Almost half of the child's body was badly burned that doctors had to amputate his right leg. The child remained in the hospital for some time to undergo treatment.

"Sana ako na lang ang nahulog dun sa uling. Sana hindi na lang siya sir," the mother said.

After almost one month in the hospital since the accident, the child died last Sunday due to infection.

The doctors did not charge the child's family for their services but the hospital bills have reached around P180,000.

The parents of the child are calling for good-hearted individuals who can help them pay the bills so that the child's remains will be released from the hospital. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
