Owner, guests reach settlement in Calamba resort trashing

The owner of the private resort in Calamba City, Laguna, and the group of guests who reportedly trashed the rental place have already reached a settlement.

Some of the resort guests, whose unruly behavior was caught in CCTV footage, were fired from their jobs, according to a report of GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog’s Andrew Bernardo on “24 Oras” on Thursday.

The owner previously said he was keen on pressing charges against the guests but he said he has agreed to settle after discussing the issue before the barangay.

He also asked the public to stop bashing the individuals involved in the video and said the resort would be stricter in accepting renters to prevent a similar occurrence.

On Wednesday, the Calamba City government ordered an investigation into the incident after a group of men were seen in a viral video throwing chairs, bottles, and even a charcoal grill and a water dispenser into the pool. The resort’s caretaker said they were part of a large group who rented the place on Sunday evening.
