P3.4-M worth of alleged shabu confiscated in Maguindanao del Norte; 2 nabbed


Authorities confiscated P3.4 million worth of alleged shabu and arrested two suspects during a drug buy-bust operation in Maguindanao del Norte on Tuesday.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, together with the Philippine Army and Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station, nabbed high-value targets Samera Osmeña and her husband Saidamin Samama Laguiamuda in the operation conducted in Barangay Simuay Crossing, Sitio Abubakar in the municipality of Sultan Kudarat, PDEA-BARMM said.

Recovered from the suspects were 11 pieces of plastic sachets containing  alleged shabu weighing more or less 510 grams, buy-bust money, two cellphones and one firearm, among others.

The suspects did not give any comment to media, according to a report on Unang Balita on Wednesday.

They were placed under the custody of PDEA-BARMM in its jail facility while awaiting inquest proceedings.

The suspects will face charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 as amended by Republic Act No. 10640, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition.

P1.3M drug bust

Meanwhile, in the municipality of Parang in Maguindanao del Norte, authorities arrested three suspects in a separate drug bust operation.

Arrested were suspects Saharudin Abu, Giamaluden Lidasan and Jeres Villarin.

A fourth suspect identified as Bin Laden Lidasan escaped.

More than P1.3 million of suspected shabu were confiscated during the operation, according to Philippine National Police - Police Regional Office in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.
