Magnitude 5.1 quake shakes Oriental Mindoro


A magnitude-5.1 earthquake struck the town of Bansud in Oriental Mindoro early Thursday morning, PHIVOLCS reported.

PHIVOLCS earlier reported that a magnitude 5.3 quake occurred in the area.

The quake, which was tectonic in origin with a depth of 1 kilometer, struck at 1:38 a.m.

The other areas where the earthquake was felt are the following:

  • Intensity V - Pinamalayan, ORIENTAL MINDORO
  • Intensity IV - Bansud, and Gloria, ORIENTAL MINDORO
