DOLE beneficiaries to get medicine discounts in HB1 pharmacies in Davao

Beneficiaries of the Government Internship Program (GIP) and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will be entitled to medicine discounts at any HB1 pharmacy in the Davao Region.

In a statement released by DOLE on Wednesday, DOLE Region XI said it officially signed a memorandum of agreement with LTS Retail Specialists, Inc. (HB1 Pharmacy) on August 22 for up to 5% discounts on selected medicines.

“DOLE XI hopes to complement the efforts of the Department in achieving effective implementation of the GIP and TUPAD Programs through this partnership with HB1 Pharmacy," said DOLE Region XI Regional Director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy.

The two-year program will benefit existing beneficiaries of GIP and TUPAD with valid IDs issued by DOLE Region XI.

"In addition to short-term employment, we are glad that we can now help our beneficiaries save on pharmacy benefits. We aspire that this discount program will grow over time and assist more DOLE beneficiaries,” added Pensoy.

As of July 2023, there are almost 120,000 TUPAD beneficiaries and over 4,000 GIP beneficiaries registered with DOLE. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
