63-year-old found dead inside bathroom in ‘dog attack’

A 63-year-old man was found dead inside the bathroom of his home in Talisay, Cebu on Thursday, a victim of what seemed to be an attack by one of his dogs.

According to GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak, neighbors who were worried about George Mayol's whereabouts reported to the police after he didn't come out of the house in since Sept. 25.

Mayol's decomposing body was found inside the bathroom. It had bite wounds on the face and other parts of the body.

One of his five dogs allegedly attacked him.

The dogs were taken by personnel of the city pound upon the order of the City of Talisay Veterinary Office.

His brother, Rodrigo, said that the same dog, a mix of Doberman and Aspin (asong Pinoy) breed, attacked George last July 2022. George had sustained 57 wounds from the said attack. He was then rescued by a caretaker of their compound.

Rodrigo said he advised George repeatedly to turn over the dog to the city pound as its aggressive nature already caused harm. But because of George’s affection for his pets, the advice went unheeded. —NB/GMA Integrated News
