1 hurt in dawn accident at SLEX - report

MANILA, Philippines - One person was injured and traffic slowed to a crawl following a road accident along the portion of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Sta. Rosa town in Laguna province at dawn Thursday. Radio dzBB cited initial reports indicating the incident occurred near the Sta. Rosa exit portion of the northbound (Manila-bound) part of the SLEX shortly before 6 a.m. One of the persons, initially reported to be a passenger of a Mitsubishi Lancer (CPL-659), who figured in the accident was rushed to a nearby hospital. Initial investigation showed the driver of the Lancer lost control and swerved into the other lane before crashing into a construction area at the side of the road. An "Alf" passenger bus (TYM-193) was hit as the driver could not brake in time. Another vehicle, a shuttle bus, was also hit and hit the road barrier. - GMANews.TV
