Bohol police rescue kidnapped Chinese woman

PANGLAO, Bohol – A Chinese woman allegedly kidnapped by four Chinese nationals and two Filipinos has been rescued, police said on Tuesday.

Chen (family name withheld), 53 years old and a resident of Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, China was abducted last October 18 and was brought to Panglao town.

The police received information on the incident on October 23 and they immediately launched an operation in Panglao on Tuesday.

Operatives arrested and identified the suspects as Hong Tianfu, Deng Ru You, 34; Wang Lie, 33; and Long Qingqing, 34, all Chinese nationals.

The arrested Filipino suspects were Roberto Jeremy Atienza, 25, and Jonel Dave Olayres, 23. Both are from Manila.

The victim was safely rescued and will soon be reunited with her family. 

The arrested suspects are under police custody.

Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado assured the public that the province remains safe despite the kidnapping incident in Panglao, a popular tourist destination in the country.  — BAP, GMA Integrated News
