Complaint to be filed vs suspects in Nueva Ecija bus shooting this week —PNP

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said a complaint will be filed against the alleged gunmen and masterminds in the fatal shooting of a couple inside a bus in Nueva Ecija.

“Kinukumpleto na lang po iyong mga papel at sinumpaang salaysay ng mga kaanak po ng mga biktima. At any time this week, we are preparing na po na makapag-file ng case,” PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said in a press briefing.

(Papers and sworn statements of the victims’ families are just being completed. And any time this week, we are preparing to file a complaint.)

Fajardo said she is not at liberty to divulge more details about the filing of the complaint.

The PNP recently said that they are looking at some names of possible gunmen in the shooting after the bullet shell casings recovered from the crime scene matched with three previous incidents.

The video of the shooting incident, which was captured on a CCTV camera, has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the gunmen can be seen shooting the two victims in the head and neck at close range.

The victims were identified as a 60-year-old female from Cauayan, Isabela and a 55-year-old male from South Cotabato.

Based on the police report, the bus was traversing a mountainous part of Barangay Minuli, Carranglan when the two gunmen shot the victims at 12:50 p.m. on November 15.

The police earlier tagged the son of the female victim as a possible person of interest.The son has denied involvement in the fatal shooting. —Joviland Rita/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
