3 students drown in a river in Davao City

Three students, aged 12 and 13, drowned in a river in Davao City, according to the GMA Regional TV One Mindanao report on "Saksi."

The rescuers tried to revive them but they were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

According to the Davao City police, the students, aged 12 and 13, did not go to school that day.

Their parents did not know they went swimming at the river.

An investigation is being conducted to determine if the school can be held liable. The school has not issued a statement as of posting. — Jiselle Casucian/BAP, GMA Integrated News
