Dumama-Alba is new minister of interior in BARMM

Members of the Bangsamoro Parliament welcomed the designation by Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim of MP Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba as the Minister of the Interior and Local Government in the BARMM.

Dumama-Alba was named to the post following the resignation of erstwhile minister Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo.

MPs Amir Mawallil said Dumama-Alba was "a capable public servant whose heart for serving the people matches her competence as a leader of the Bangsamoro Parliament."

Dumama-Alba is also the Attorney General of the BARMM and concurrent chair of the Committee on Rules.

"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to MP Dumama-Alba for her well-deserved appointment as the Minister of Interior and Local Government," Mawalil said. 

"Her extensive background as a lawyer and her dedicated service to the public make her an excellent choice for this crucial role,” he added.

“We are confident that her leadership will greatly contribute to the progress and development of our region. I believe in her capabilities as a lawyer, and that she can use her experience to make meaningful changes in the MILG,” Mawalil said.

MP Ras Mitmug said Dumama-Alba was "a leader whose commitment to public service and the legal profession stand as pillars of her career."

“Her appointment as Minister of Interior and Local Government is not just an acknowledgment of her capabilities but a testament to her unwavering dedication to our community. We celebrate this milestone with her and look forward to witnessing the positive impact of her leadership," Mitmug said.

MP Teng Ambolodto it gave him pride to see Dumama-Alba at the helm of the MILG.

 "As fellow public servants, we take pride in the appointment of MP Dumama-Alba. Her wealth of experience as a lawyer and her track record in public service reflect a leader who is not only competent but deeply committed to the welfare of our constituents,” Ambolodto said.

 “We congratulate her on this achievement and believe that under her guidance, our region will prosper," he added.

 Dumama-Alba is also the vice-chair of the Statutory Committee of the Bangsamoro Justice System and the Secretariat for the Intergovernmental Relations Body (IGRB), a mechanism for cooperation and coordination between the National Government and the Bangsamoro Government. —NB, GMA Integrated News
