1 dead as fire hits Bulacan storage box factory

One person was killed following a fire incident at a factory of plastic storage boxes in Guiguinto, Bulacan, Nico Waje reported on Unang Balita on Wednesday.

One employee, Jeffrey Pepito, was hurt when one of the machines in the factory exploded near him.

"Paglabas ko po may apoy na po. Nagdala ako ng fire extinguisher, wala na, hindi na maagapan," Pepito said.

(There was already fire when I went out. I brought a fire extinguisher but it was already too late.)

The factory's secretary, identified as Francis Urbano, perished in the incident.

The fire, which started shortly past 12 a.m., was declared under control at 5 a.m. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
