Gun-for-hire suspect nabbed in Cavite

A gun-for-hire suspect from Ozamiz City was arrested by the Manila Police District Intelligence and Operations Unit in Tanza, Cavite, on Friday.

According to Emil Sumangil's "24 Oras" report, the suspect has been wanted for two months due to a series of murders in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental. 

“Isang hired killer po ito, ano? Gun for hire sa Ozamiz. Dalawang buwan na itong hinahanap, may warrant po ito, murder,” said Manila Police Director Police Brigadier General Arnold Thomas Ibay.

(He is a hired killer. Gun for hire in Ozamiz. He's been wanted for two months, he has a warrant, murder.)

Based on the MPD's investigation, the suspect is linked to a series of killings in the province.

“Ginagamit siya dati, panahon pa ng nakaraang mga administrasyon sa Ozamis. So nagtago siya rito,” said Ibay.

A Glock 9mm was recovered from the suspect. It was discovered that the gun was registered to an official of the local government unit in Southern Tagalog.

“Kasama sa imbestigasyon natin ngayon, kung bakit napunta sa suspek ang baril na ito na registered to another person,” Ibay added.
