Body of missing 7-year old girl found inside cave in Lucban, Quezon

The body of a seven-year old girl was found inside a cave in Lucban, Quezon, hours after she was reported missing over the weekend. 

Based on initial police investigation, the victim’s uncle found the remains of the missing Grade 2 student inside a cave in Barangay Palola on Sunday, January 14.

The uncle said he was trying to find his niece after she failed to return home on Saturday evening. 

He said he and his nephew searched in a forested area of the barangay when they saw suspect Noel Bojildador Diaz, 33, emerge from a cave with a digging bar. 

The victim’s uncle waited until Diaz left before he entered the cave. Inside he saw an arranged pile of rocks and his niece’s slippers. He immediately removed the rocks and discovered his lifeless niece.

He immediately alerted barangay officials who coordinated with the police. 

The victim’s mother positively identified the remains as her daughter. 

Authorities immediately arrested Diaz who is now in police custody and awaiting charges.—RF, GMA Integrated News
