Rama: Cebu City prepared to secure 131 Sinulog Festival activities

With augmented health and security protocols, Cebu City is all prepared for the Sinulog Festival and the attendees of its 131 activities this year.

In a public briefing on Wednesday, Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama said that the city has beefed up its security and health protocols ahead of the anticipated festival’s highlighted events that will run until January 22.

“We’ve been continuous in our vaccination. In fact we've already reached herd immunity and then we never stopped,” Rama said.

The city has partnered with regional law enforcement and military commands, local government units and other concerned agencies to ensure proper traffic flow, as well as peace and order during the event.

“It has been continuously also being managed. We have constant meetings. This morning nagmi-meeting din kami tapos meron pa kami mga walk-through, drive-through para tinitingnan namin. Hopefully, all can be anticipated para ma-avoid yung traffic,” the mayor added.

Rama reminded attendees to bring their own water bottles, umbrellas and sunscreen during the event.

“Please pray and help. Pray that you will have all activities attended to, it becomes peaceful tapos religious andami yan eh," said the mayor.
