Two of Bicol's most wanted arrested in separate operations

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has arrested a couple who are alleged members of the Concepcion Criminal Group.

The male suspect was arrested in the town of Paracale, Camarines Norte while his wife was arrested in Imus, Cavite in a separate operation.

Authorities said the two are among the most wanted persons in the Bicol Region.

The two were allegedly involved in the kidnapping and killing of brothers Gilbert and Glen Quinzon in Daraga, Albay.

The remains of the two victims were among the remains of six people dug up by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Libon, Albay in 2022.

"Ito po ay namonitor natin through sa ating mga alpha since na ganun na nga yung nangyari kay Gilbert Concepcion ng siya po ay na-neutralized na po then lalong napamadali yung ating pag-monitor sa mga kasamahan nito,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Marribay, chief of CIDG in Albay.

(We monitored this through our alpha since Gilbert Concepcion was neutralized. We were able to monitor the others.)

Gilbert Concepcion, the alleged leader of the Concepcion Criminal Group, was killed in an armed encounter during the service of a warrant arrest in Manila in January 2024.

Concepcion was considered the mastermind behind various crimes allegedly committed by the group, including extortion and multiple murders.

The operation in Manila took place in Barangay San Martin de Porres, Parañaque City with the collaborative efforts of Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) and other law enforcement units.

PRO-5 had reported that the operation resulted in an armed encounter and ended with Concepcion and his accomplices neutralized. GMA Regional TV
