Sister admits to killing balikbayan mother and daughter in Tayabas, Quezon

The sister of a balikbayan mother and daughter has admitted in killing them in Tayabas, Quezon, as three more suspects remain at large.

In a report on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday, Tayabas police said they have in their custody the sister of the eldest victim, an OFW working in Japan.

The suspect told police she and three more suspects, among them her husband, killed the victims by beating and stabbing them to death.

The female suspect is currently in a hospital after she attempted to commit suicide after learning the bodies of the victims have been found.

The female victims have been missing for almost a month before their bodies were discovered in the backyard of a family member.

The mother and her 26-year old Japanese daughter had just arrived from Japan shortly before they were reported missing on February 21, 2024. They were guests of the suspects before they went missing.

Initial investigation points to money as a possible motive behind the crime.

The victims’ luggage were first seen floating in a river in the town.

Authorities discovered that the items were bloodied and the suitcases were opened.—RF, GMA Integrated News
