School in Ilocos Norte unveils region’s first corn maze

The 79th Foundation Day celebration of the Ilocos Norte Agricultural College in Pasuquin turned into a festive occasion with the formal opening of the region's first-ever corn maze.

The corn maze covers an expansive area of 2,500 square meters, featuring a variety of yellow corn specially grown for the purpose.

The maze was made by students, staff, and faculty of the college.

It is designed to provide both adventure seekers and agriculture enthusiasts with a unique and educational experience.

Despite challenges such as the prevailing El Niño phenomenon, the agricultural community managed to plant and nurture the corn maze.

“Makikita mo talaga na nag eenjoy yung mga estudyante at makakabonding narin nila ang mga classmate at family nila [sa corn maze],” Aaliyah Carreon, a student, said.

“Amazing, I didn’t expect na [ganoon kaganda] yung kalalabasan ng ginawa nila, because ang dami nilang efforts na binuhos for that,” Alyssa Garcia, a student-teacher, said.

Entrance to the maze is free.

The college aims to reignite the youth's interest in agriculture by providing immersive and engaging experiences like the corn maze.GMA Regional TV
