Lightning strikes wedding reception in Davao City, 7 hurt

At least seven people were injured after lightning struck the venue of a wedding reception held in Barangay Salaysay, Marilog District in Davao City, according to a report on "Saksi."

The guests at the reception heard a loud thunder clap, they also saw a spark like fire when the victims were hit by lightning.

The victims fell to the ground, their bodies stiffened until they could not move.

According to the victims who were rushed to the hospital and to the barangay officials, their area was also hit by lightning last year in which two people died.

PAGASA officials advised the public to avoid going out of the house and using cellphones or any electronic devices during a thunderstorm. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
