'Hi-tech' thieves wanted in Korea nabbed in Cebu

Three Korean fugitives wanted in South Korea for special robbery were arrested by authorities in Talisay City, Cebu.

According to John Consulta’s “24 Oras” report Tuesday, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said the suspects were under the Interpol Red Notice list for their alleged “high-technology” technique in robbing their victims’ homes.

(Their group was allegedly using a tracking device and a surveillance device to locate the residence of their would-be victims. Once they enter, they install surveillance cameras to determine how to open the vaults.)

One of the suspects’ cohorts was previously arrested in South Korea before the three fled to the Philippines. The fugitives escaped before the issuance of the Interpol notice.

The arrested suspects are now detained at the BI detention facility in Bicutan.

(We will determine if they victimized other people here in the Philippines before their deportation.)
