Ship with Chinese crew runs aground in Zambales
By GMA Integrated News
A ship with seven Chinese crew aboard ran aground at the pier in San Felipe, Zambales, on Wednesday, according to a 24 Oras report.
The ship had been detained at sea since May 16 in San Felipe's Barangay Sindol after the PCG noticed over 20 deficiencies.
On May 25, the Philippine Coast Guard allowed the ship to take shelter from the bad weather at the pier in Barangay Maloma, also in San Felipe.
When it tried to leave the pier, it ran aground due to strong waves.
The report said the Chinese crew members were in good condition and were immediately brought down to be checked by the municipal health office. The PCG has also contacted a salvage company to retrieve the ship. — Sherylin Untalan/BM, GMA Integrated News
