Police re-arrest alleged Bulacan jail escape mastermind
The alleged mastermind of the San Jose Del Monte Police Station custodial facility escape in which eight persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) fled from the facility was re-arrested in Pampanga.
According to Luisito Santos' Super Radyo dzBB report, "Aaron" was arrested at around Friday noon in front of the San Matias National High School in Santo Tomas, Pampanga.
All eight of the escapees were involved in drug-related cases.
Of the eight escapees, four had been re-arrested while the man-hunt for the remaining four continued.
On Monday, Police Master Sergeant Rod Pating, the investigator on the case, said the PDLs escaped by sawing through the metal bars at a window of the comfort room.
Authorities retrieved the saw they used as well as five metal bars.
Police are looking into how the saw was smuggled into the facility. They also resealed and covered the window used by the PDLs.
CCTV footage showed six of the escapees walking along San Pedro Street, Barangay Poblacion around 3 a.m. on Sunday.
Two of the men broke away from the group while the remaining four started running away. A few minutes later, two more individuals ran past the street. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
